McAuliffe Stevens Registered Architects (MSra) are a Registered Architects Practice providing consultancy services in the core discipline of Architecture and are a Practice Member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA). The MSra portfolio of work includes individual private house projects, multi-unit residential and commercial development projects, institutional, hospitality and medical projects.
MSra has offices in both Dunedin and Queenstown. Our work is mainly concentrated in their environs of the Dunedin and Central Otago offices, with other work within Canterbury and Southland districts.
MSra is committed to applying design expertise to enhance our environment, culture and community and use their skills and resources to produce a design which not only works at a functional level but enhances people’s lives, achieves sustainable outcomes, is well suited to its environment and maintains high aesthetic standards.
MSra believes that the best architectural design outcomes are created from architectural first principles and by promoting direct and consultative relationships with clients and users. MSra also believes it is essential to achieve a thorough understanding of client vision and to maximise value through design.
MSra uses traditional hand drawing and the latest release digital architectural modelling CAD software for the production of design documentation and to realise and illustrate the outcomes of work undertaken.
MSra offer the benefit of a comprehensive and strong experience of architectural practice achieved over many years and builds on the respective backgrounds and experience of all personnel to provide a high level of professional architectural service.
MSra’s security is underpinned by:
- Nearly 65 combined years of architectural practice by the MSL Principals.
- Undertaking architectural practice in accordance with the guidelines, requirements and procedures as set by the NZIA and NZRAB.
- Professional indemnity insurance with NZACS.

- A substantial client base with an ongoing involvement in a number of significant projects.
We chose to develop a culture based on a fresh approach where our team can work together with our clients and other building professionals to realise projects that achieve quality outcomes. We believe that each individual project is a unique undertaking deserving of its own creative solution and that every project provides the opportunity to achieve these goals.
All staff members of MSra are NZ experienced Registered Architects, NZ experienced Graduate of Architecture members, or NZ experienced fully qualified Architectural Technicians with a thorough understanding of the NZ building industry, construction methodologies, procurement methods and project management systems.
Individual attention is provided to all projects by a MSra principal and the assignment of key staff best qualified, committed and experienced to contribute in a team environment to ensure that the project is completed to the clients requirements.
